Fix For Quicken 2017 Contrast And Color Problem For Mac Computer

Jul 28, 2018  Of course, I wouldn't have needed this product except for the sneaky way Quicken fixed it so I could no longer use Quicken 2013. I had to download and re-install that product because of a computer problem. Then I couldn't register and use it because Quicken deleted the web site needed, forcing the purchase of another update.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!
I've retried the installation of Quicken 2017 this morning, except that, this time, I enabled verbose logging. This is probably the 10th time I've attempted the install, but the first with any kind of logging. Here's my setup:
Software: Crossover 15.3.0
Platform: Fedora 24 64-bit
Installing: Quicken 2017
Bottle: Quicken_2017 (Windows 7)
However, when I started my installation test this morning, I noticed that there's now a Quicken 2017 entry to install (there wasn't before, it was always an 'unlisted application') so that suggests that Quicken 2017 can now be installed; sure enough, while setting up, I see that there will be a lot more going on during the installation: several MS fonts were identified for downloading, and in addition to .NET 4.6.1 (which is included as part of the Quicken installation), .NET 2.0 and 4.0 were identified for downloading as well as the Visual C++ 2008 redistributable and the Platform SDK redistributable (GDI+).
During the actual installation, I saw and responded to the Microsoft installation prompts. Remember, .NET 2.0 takes an eternity to install; newer versions are faster. Next, .NET 4.0 installed followed by .NET 4.6.1 afterwards.
Finally, the Quicken 2017 installation starts, and .NET 4.6.1 installs first (again), followed by the Quicken installation and update.
But, at the moment of truth, Quicken won't start: it tries to start (opens the parent window), but fails and kills itself, and that sequence repeats itself (as near as I can tell) continually. It took me about a dozen tries to finally kill it.
We're not there yet ..

I was running into the same problem when I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. After searching through the settings, I found a solution that appears to resolve this issue.

What is a false positive? It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.BlockedIt’s highly probable this software program is malicious or contains unwanted bundled software. To fix this problem:

  1. Go To - Settings>System>Display
  2. Turn Off 'Adjust My Screen Brightness Automatically' Setting

I hope this helps. If anyone is having problems with Windows 10 bootcamp, I would strongly recommend installing the most up-to-date bootcamp drivers. I lost my F-key functionality after the upgrade, and reinstalling the updated drivers resolved that issue.
